What is the difference between in-clinic and at-home whitening?

In-clinic whitening is carried out at the clinic with high-concentration gels and professional activation — an immediate, intense result. Does teeth whitening hurt?

Temporary tooth sensitivity may occur during or after treatment — especially in teeth that are already sensitive. This discomfort is short-lived and disappears within 24 to 48 hours. The prior assessment helps identify higher-risk situations and adapt the protocol to minimise sensitivity.

How long do whitening results last?

With proper care — avoiding staining foods and drinks in the 48 hours after treatment and maintaining good oral hygiene — the result lasts between 1 and 3 years. The home kit provided allows simple top-ups to prolong the effect.

Does teeth whitening damage the enamel?

Who can have teeth whitening?

Most adults with good oral health are candidates for teeth whitening. It is not recommended for pregnant women, under-18s, or people with inflamed gums or untreated cavities. The initial assessment determines whether it is the right time to start treatment.

Can I have whitening if I have restorations or veneers?

The whitening gel acts only on natural enamel — it does not change the colour of restorations, crowns or veneers. If you have visible restorations, they may need to be replaced after whitening to match the shade of the natural teeth. We assess this at the initial appointment.
